Pigeon Vision

Pigeon Vision is a two week project where we designed a wearable to make people experience the relationship between behavior and sensorium. When pigeons walk it appears that they nod their head back and forth (head bobbing). However what is actually happening is an optokinetic response occurring in two distinct phases: the thrust phase in which the head is moved in a direction, blurring vision; followed by a second hold phase where the head is held still and retinal vision is stabilized.
Through wearable emulation, we aim to introduce the pigeon sensorium to a human audience and create a different understanding towards the perception of another
